It's time the women behind the beauty industry were truly seen.
I never set out to design uniforms.
I set out to make people feel beautiful.
My journey began in the quiet hum of treatment rooms and spa sanctuaries, where soft lighting, warm towels, and calming touch could transform someone’s day—or even their life. For over 15 years, I had the privilege of working in some of the most respected salons and luxury spas in outer London UK, treating hundreds of clients and building a reputation for results-driven skin care and deeply nurturing treatments.
But behind the calm exterior, there was a constant frustration I couldn’t ignore: I never felt comfortable in what I was wearing.
The uniforms we were given—scratchy, stiff, boxy—didn’t reflect the care we poured into our work or the elegance of the spaces we worked in. They weren’t flattering, they weren’t functional, and they definitely didn’t align with the premium services we offered.
I began to dream about a different kind of uniform. One that felt beautiful to wear. One that moved with you, fit your shape, and carried your brand proudly on its sleeve. A uniform that respected the woman wearing it as much as the work she was doing.
That dream stayed with me quietly for years—until motherhood, business ownership, and a few life curveballs nudged me to finally take the leap.
I created Salon Threads not just as a brand, but as a solution. For all the therapists, nail artists, skin specialists, lash techs, and salon owners who—just like me—want to look polished, feel confident, and work in comfort.
This blog series will take you behind the scenes of that journey—from the spark of inspiration to choosing fabrics, designing with intention, and building a collection that’s as considered as the treatments we give.
